Using Simple Points
About the plugin
Simple Points: Agile Poker Estimation adds a simple and straightforward way to estimate story points using planning poker directly within Jira issues. Team members can vote simultaneously, see real-time results, and reach consensus faster during sprint planning sessions.
Access the plugin
Access Simple Points from the issue context panel on any Jira issue. The "Estimation" panel appears automatically when viewing an issue.
Use the plugin
To vote on story points:
Open any Jira issue in your project
Locate the "Estimation" panel in the issue context area on the right
Select your story point estimate from the available options (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, or ?)
Click "Submit" to cast your vote
To view results:
Results update automatically in real-time as team members vote
View the bar chart showing vote distribution and consensus
Click "Show votes" to see individual team member estimates
Use the refresh button to manually update results
To change your vote:
Click "New vote" to remove your current vote and vote again
Select a different story point value and submit
To skip voting:
Click "Skip to results" if you're observing and don't need to vote
You'll still see the results and vote distribution

0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13: Standard Fibonacci sequence for story point estimation
?: Use when the issue needs clarification or is too complex to estimate
