Using Wrokspace for Jira
Project Workspace for Jira is a visual workspace designed for project managers, Scrum Masters, PMOs and operations teams who manage multiple Jira projects. Instead of navigating between projects, issue pages and browser tabs, Project Workspace provides a single shared workspace where you can browse project hierarchies, create and update work, and coordinate projects more efficiently.
The workspace is fully configurable, allowing teams to define their own hierarchy, card layouts, views and quick actions while continuing to use Jira's existing permissions and workflows.
Access the Plugin
Open Project Workspace from the Apps section in the Jira project sidebar.
Workspace
Each workspace contains one or more Jira projects displayed in a visual hierarchy. Projects can be added or removed at any time, and changes are immediately available to everyone with access to the workspace.
The hierarchy is configurable to match your Jira setup (for example: Project → Epic → Story → Task).
Issue cards display the information most relevant to your team and can be customized through the Workspace Designer.
Navigation
Expand and collapse hierarchy levels to focus on the work that matters. Large workspaces are loaded progressively to maintain fast performance.
Views
Views let you see different perspectives of the same workspace without modifying it.
Examples include:
My Projects
Active Work
High Priority
Operations
Each view can apply different filters while using the same underlying workspace.
Workspace Designer
Workspace Designer allows administrators to tailor the workspace to their team's needs.
Card Designer
Choose which fields appear on issue cards and organize their layout.
Hierarchy
Configure the hierarchy displayed in the workspace to match your Jira implementation.
Views
Create and manage custom views with predefined filters for different teams or purposes.
Quick Actions
Configure buttons that trigger Jira Automations directly from issue cards.
Permissions
Project Workspace respects all Jira permissions. Users only see projects and issues they have permission to access. Restricted projects appear as placeholders to preserve the workspace structure.
